It was the perfect mix of heritage/character and contemporary as it was recently entirely redone. For me, it was exactly what I wanted for my solo trip to the Peak District - really cozy and quaint, but new and fresh and clean. My room (#3) was darling - corner unit with 2 windows and great views, warm, and very charming country aesthetic. The minimal traffic and pub noise didn't bug bother me at all, the bed was comfortable, and plenty of complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the room. The continental breakfast was just right (Canadians, note that it is cold items only). The staff was friendly and lent me a very handy umbrella for my few days. I had one meal in the pub which I enjoyed, which was also cute with the fireplaces.
