Boasting mountain views, Ahmed Mulatam House features accommodation with a garden and a terrace, around 1.1 km from Medinet Habu Temple. This apartment provides accommodation with a balcony. It was hard when I had to leave Ahmed Mulatam house. I intermingled with the family, his sons, wife and daughter. Ahmed was exceptionally kind to me when he knew I was travelling alone and was a complete stranger in not only Luxor but all Egypt. He never left me alone. He cleverly organized four trips to 8 locations in Luxor, from temples to museums, to bazaars to markets. He bought me with his own budget a gift on my way home as a souvenir. But also he picked me up ( his son Mohamad) from and to the train station. He never left me to deal with sellers who are strange to me. Staying in Luxor for this short period of time allowed me to know the truth about the south of Egypt a region I only heard about, shamefully, from the tv. I got to learn about their chivalry, sincerity and generosity ( from strangers as well as people who knew me) , and that’s because I stayed in a guest house not a hotel. I am grateful I got this precious experience. I will come back next year. The three gentlemen in the photos are for the kind knowledgeable tour guides who guided me through Esna, Dendara , Edfu, Karnak and Luxor temples.

Located in Luxor, 1.2 km from Medinet Habu Temple, Nour El Balad features a garden and views of the city. The best hotel we had in Egypt! The staff was amazing and very flexible. Abdelrady made wonderful meals for us! Very friendly and welcoming family. If you don't have anything planned yet, they can help you book your tours. If you need a taxi, one of the brothers is a taxi driver with an amazing old Peugeot and a big smile. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Beds were amazing. I loved the luxurious down blanket. The rooms are decorated with great taste! The authentic architecture is stunning and the tranquility of the place is refreshing. All you hear is birds chirping and the occasional local who passes by. The location is perfect for visiting the West bank and also for a hot air balloon ride. You can sleep longer than people who stay on the East bank and you get dropped off first afterwards. We were welcomed back with a delicious breakfast on the roof top terrace that included delicious pancakes, molasses and candied oranges. The owners made sure we could rent a bike around sunset which was one of our most favourite experiences in Luxor. We started in the direction of Valley of the Artisans, passed Medinet Habu and the colossi and went through the beautiful farm lands. We rode by the hotel again to end with a beautiful sunset over the Valley at the end of the street. Cannot recommend enough! Thank you so much!!

This is my first stay at the west bank, Luxor but it won't be the last time, especially in this great guest house. The house was simple, quiet, and clean. The host "Ahmed" is very kind, helpful, and professional. He helped us book a balloon ride at a good price. The accommodation is a country house where you can enjoy the countryside life and enjoy fresh air and nature. It is also close to Habu temple and Memnon statues, and a few miles to the Vally of Kings and the Vally of Queens. You can feel as if you are at home.

It is located 1.9 km from Colossi of Memnon and features room service.... This is a beautiful guest house with a very friendly Egyptian family. They made us feel very welcome and cooked us delicious breakfast and dinner. The apartment is beautiful and very close to many of the tombs and temples in the region. Tarek also helped us find bicycles to rent and was available to help organize many things like day trips, tours balloon rides and more.
